Seasonal trolleys touch a handful of Parkway stops, but they don't reach the cabins up in the hills, they don't get you to Douglas Lake, and they don't go into Great Smoky Mountains National Park. If your trip involves a cabin, the lake, or a single day in the park — and most Sevierville trips involve at least one — you need a vehicle. Sevierville sits at the top of the funnel: Pigeon Forge and Dollywood are about 15 minutes south, Gatlinburg about 30, and the national park just beyond. Cabins and stays here often run cheaper than the same thing deeper in Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg, and you're still minutes from all of it. Base in Sevierville, keep the car in the driveway, and drive out to whatever the day calls for — the outlets one morning, Cades Cove the next.
